The Shabby House

The Women of Shabby House

THE BARN BOYS
We would be remiss if we did not mention our "shabby guys".  Mike Huard, ("Papa" Mike to all here) is our resident jack of all trades.  Mike has built and re-built many beautiful pieces of furniture for us and spends hours plugging away out in the barn.  (Hmmmm actually all the guys seem to spend a lot of time in the barn . . . hiding from us maybe?? :-)!)  Mike is a former resident of California and retired to Idaho with his beautiful wife Linda.
Dave Church came to us as a day laborer hired through New Hope Mission.  Who knew we would all find "family" we never knew!  Dave has joined the Shabby team permanently and is responsible for all the outside projects FINALLY getting done!  Dave is a native of Vermont and Connecticut but now calls Boise home.  In fact he and Mike are remodeling the barn next door into a great two bedroom apartment for Dave to live in after he completes his certified bicycle mechanic training in Oregon this Fall.
Koy McKelvey is our part time finish carpenter. Koy is a full time journalism major at BSU and works full time at the T&A Cafe.  In his spare time!  he helps out in the carpentry shop here and produces some amazing pieces. Koy is the proud father of two sons living in Orgeon.
 We love our shabby guys!

Partners/Owners

Lori LORIKERBY@CLEARWIRE.NET has  always loved home decor and design. Her eye for the quirky and the beautiful always make for an adventure in shopping.  After a career in banking, Lori has channeled her love for redesign and reuse into a business.
Starting with Lesli in 2002 as "Revival", quarterly sales of their many finds and redesigns were held wherever they could find available space.
In 2006, the Revival concept was shelved and their partnership in "Junktiques/The Shabby House" began.
Lori is married to her high school sweetheart and has three children in elementary school and four spoiled cats.  They live in Boise after meeting and marrying in Kansas.
Lori loves to visit family in Seattle and the mid west and her kids are used to sharing the mini van with her treasures!

Lesli  leslif@cableone.net  has always loved hauling home vintage finds and trying to use or reuse them in interesting ways.
After finding her salvage soulmate in Lori, a hobby became a business.
Upon leaving a career with Revlon to be a stay at home mom, Lesli found herself dragging more stuff home- and having less space to put it!  Thus a match made in heaven.
Lesli is a native of California, but has been a resident of Idaho for over 20 years.
After meeting her husband at BSU, they bought a home in Eagle.  Lesli has two young children, two dogs and two cats.  She and Jack are hoping to add a third child (via domestic adoption) before they retire or expire (will Micron stock NEVER go up??!!)  She still gets home to Pasadena to shop every chance she gets.

Debbie has long been a participant in the Boise antique and home decor market.  A member of the original Orchard Hill crowd and owner of Garden Gate antiques, she has a talent for finding that unique and perfect vintage piece. The one that makes you say "where did she find that?" and "I must have it".  A first time grandmother of a perfect grandchild, Debbie lives in Eagle

Char is a young and active mom with great style!  Her finds are never dull and always fun.  A longtime lover of all things old and chippy, she lives in a beautifully decorated home in Middleton, and always has the cutest purses . . . .

Magnolia Hill blends romantic decor with farmhouse style.  Monica balances a small child and many, many design projects which find their way to the Shabby House.  We love her enthusiasm, positive attitude and creative flair!!

Renee of Miss Gracies, now has the back porch at the house- and WOW does she do it well. You are missing out if you don't come see the creative, practical and beautiful items she brings in.to our store  We are thrilled to have her here with us!  Check out her great blog at www.missgracies.blogspot.com

In our tents we have some great vendors:
Nancy is our Office Manager/ favorite person!  She loves to treasure hunt in her spare time. She also loves finding great bargain pieces and passing that savings on to our customers.  She is also an avid reader so there is always a pile of used books to look through.  Nancy also has recently taken over the walk through closet in the house and has a beautiful selection of new "old" cards and other paper ephemera that you will love!  As of our holiday event, Nancy will be in her new space above the barn-stop by!

Rebecca of Mulligan Stew has the first tent in our row- and does amazing things with her space.  She is a mother of two little girls and has exquisite taste.  She has a BIG plan for spring so come see whats new!!!

Kelly Hawk is our newest addition and has some great items at great prices.  Recently retired from the goverment, Kelly has a houseful of very spoiled dogs and calls yard work- "therapy".  We have a lot of therapeutic opportunities here at the House!  She is in the second shotgun tent out our backdoor so make sure and stop by.

We are so lucky to have all these great folks at The Shabby House.  Most of all we are lucky to have our great customers- many of you have become valued friends.  It is our goal to make every experience with us fun, and memorable and we hope to have you still shopping with us as we all enter our twilight years!  (Kicking and screaming but entering none the less).
